Actuellement la production en s\u00e9rie de dispositifs de 7\u00a0nm est courante avec des objectifs de 5\u00a0nm et m\u00eame 3\u00a0nm en 20221. Une limitation tr\u00e8s importante \u00e0 ce d\u00e9veloppement est le fait que les outils d\u2019analyse de la fabrication de ces circuits imprim\u00e9s, que sont les faisceaux d\u2019ions focalis\u00e9s (FIB : Focused Ion Beam) standards, n\u2019ont actuellement pas la taille de sonde n\u00e9cessaire. Ainsi, pour la technologie des semi-conducteurs, mais aussi pour de nombreux d\u00e9veloppements de la technologie quantique, une nouvelle m\u00e9thode d\u2019analyse est n\u00e9cessaire. Le fait de pouvoir contr\u00f4ler le nombre et la position des atomes (ou des ions) \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9chelle nanom\u00e9trique jettera donc les bases des technologies futures. Un v\u00e9ritable bond technologique est n\u00e9cessaire pour adresser ces dimensions ultimes.\nC&#8217;est exactement le d\u00e9fi sp\u00e9cifique que Le projet FIBback veut relever (Figure #FB) en combinant l\u2019expertise de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Orsay Physics (OP) (http:\/\/www.orsayphysics.com\/) sp\u00e9cialiste mondiale en faisceaux d\u2019ions focalis\u00e9s, et celle du Laboratoire Aim\u00e9 Cotton (LAC) qui vient r\u00e9cemment de d\u00e9montrer le contr\u00f4le ion par ion d\u2019une source d\u2019ions c\u00e9sium [Lop19, Tri20]. Ce projet vise donc \u00e0 r\u00e9aliser le contr\u00f4le ion par ion d\u2019une source d\u2019ions c\u00e9sium \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle sub-nanom\u00e9trique en couplant \u00e0 une colonne d\u2019ions focalis\u00e9s \u00e0 atomes froids d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e par OP le syst\u00e8me de contr\u00f4le de la trajectoire de chaque ion par contre-r\u00e9action, bas\u00e9e sur l\u2019information issue de la mesure des \u00e9lectrons d\u00e9tect\u00e9s en co\u00efncidence, mis au point au LAC [Lop19]. Une fois \u00e9tudi\u00e9es les limitations de cette corr\u00e9lation (vibrations, stabilit\u00e9 des \u00e9lectrodes, blindages magn\u00e9tiques, etc..), nous pourrons r\u00e9aliser des exp\u00e9riences d\u2019imagerie \u00e0 tr\u00e8s haute r\u00e9solution. Nous commencerons \u00e0 bas flux (100\u00a0fA) avec notre d\u00e9tecteur temps-position actuel (lignes \u00e0 retard). L\u2019utilisation d\u2019un Timepix 4 permettra d\u2019augmenter ensuite le flux. Une r\u00e9solution sub-nanom\u00e9trique, rendue possible gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la m\u00e9thode d\u2019imagerie fant\u00f4me d\u00e9montr\u00e9e r\u00e9cemment au LAC (Figure #GI), constituera une r\u00e9volution en imagerie avec des ions lourds. En adaptant l\u2019\u00e9lectronique d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e par le LAC dans l\u2019exp\u00e9rience SIEC [Lop19], il sera aussi possible de corriger la trajectoire de chaque ion en changeant rapidement la tension d\u2019une lentille du FIB. L\u00e0 aussi le but sera finalement d\u2019atteindre la r\u00e9solution sub-nanom\u00e9trique m\u00eame \u00e0 tr\u00e8s basse \u00e9nergie de faisceau (gamme de 500\u00a0eV \u00e0 5\u00a0keV) afin de ne pas trop endommager les \u00e9chantillons. Enfin, vers 2024, un retour du FIB \u00e0 Orsay Physics permettra une optimisation finale de l\u2019exp\u00e9rience dans des exp\u00e9riences de gravure, de d\u00e9position et de pr\u00e9paration (d\u00e9coupe) d\u2019\u00e9chantillon avec une pr\u00e9cision sub-nanom\u00e9trique de fa\u00e7on robuste. Les \u00e9tapes de fiabilisation et de simplification seront fondamentales pour la mise au point d\u2019un prototype industriel. Les avantages scientifiques et industriels du projet FIBback seront nombreux \u00e0 court, moyen et long termes, car il s&#8217;agit d&#8217;une perc\u00e9e technologique qui permettra de surmonter les limites des outils de diagnostic dans la fabrication des semi-conducteurs, mais aussi parce qu&#8217;il ouvrira la voie au contr\u00f4le du nombre et de la position des atomes (ou ions) implant\u00e9s \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9chelle nanom\u00e9trique, ce qui est \u00e0 la base de la plupart des technologies (quantiques) futures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\">\n\n\n\n<p><strong>R\u00e9f\u00e9rences :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[<em>Lop19<\/em>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Real-time trajectory control of deterministically produced ions<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C.
